The population of this study comprised all the 261 public secondary school principals in Anambra State. The entire population of 291 principals will be used for the study and the size is considered manageable. Therefore, there will be no sampling for the study. Data for this study will be collected by means of structured questionnaire developed by the researcher after extensive review of the literature and consultation with the experts in the field. The questionnaire is of two types titled “Principals’ Areas of Worklife Questionnaire (PAWQ) and “Principals’ Administrative Effectiveness Questionnaire (PAEQ). The instruments were subjected to face and content validity. Cronbach Alpha Method was used to ascertain the internal consistency of the instruments and it yielded an overall co-efficient of 0.81. The Pearson Product Moment was used to answer research questions 1 – 3 while t-test of correlational analysis was used to test hypotheses 1 – 3 at 0.05 level of significance. The findings revealed that there is a low positive relationship between principals’ workload and their administrative effectiveness in secondary schools in Anambra State. It was also revealed that there is significant relationship between principals’ workload and their administrative effectiveness in secondary schools in Anambra State.
