AN EVALUATION OF PHARMACEUTICAL CARE AND SYNDROMIC MANAGEMENT OF SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED INFECTIONS (STIS) BY COMMUNITY PHARMACISTS IN LAGOS STATE
ABSTRACT
STIs are illnesses that are spread from one person to another through sexual contact, however some can also be transmitted from mother to child during pregnancy, childbirth, or breast-feeding. STIs are a significant public health issue. An all-encompassing strategy to stop the spread of HIV should include early STI screening and treatment. Although public-sector services are accessible even in countries with the fewest resources, many customers find them to be unsatisfactory since these countries lack the required medical equipment and personnel. Because they are thought to offer better access and anonymity than public sector facilities and frequently have a reputation for being less stigmatizing, private providers are frequently favored. Many of these individuals, though, are not treated logically. because their management does not follow the established rules.
