AN EVALUATION OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF A DRIP IRRIGATION SYSTEM FOR A SMALL SCALE FARMING SYSTEM

ABSTRACT
Among the issues facing developing nations are food security and water conservation. By using drip irrigation, the problems associated with water conservation could be solved. The artificial administration of water to the base or root zone of plants via a drip irrigation system is done in a regulated, slow, frequent, and steady way. On a tiny sale plot measuring 7 m x 5 m and equipped with a head tank that was filled by a water pipe running from a tank to a reservoir, this study designed a drip irrigation system for rural farmers. The flow drip system from the hospital was modified to create the emitters. Utilizing volumetric data, the performance evaluation was calculated. The outcomes indicated that the application rate and distribution uniformity were 1.04 mm/hr and 17.4 mm/hr, respectively. The drip irrigation system’s construction cost =N=37,350. The performance suggests that no upkeep is necessary. Consequently, the machinery is advised for small-scale farmers in various viewpoints of the machine would be needed.
