Abstract:
This study aims to investigate the influence of age and gender on job performance among non-teaching staff at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University. Job performance is a critical factor in organizational success, and understanding the factors that influence it can help in developing effective human resource management strategies. In this study, age and gender are examined as potential factors that may impact job performance.

The research utilizes a quantitative research design, employing a survey questionnaire to collect data from a sample of non-teaching staff members at the university. The questionnaire includes items related to job performance, age, and gender, and participants are asked to rate their perceived job performance on a Likert scale. Statistical analyses, including correlation and regression analysis, are conducted to examine the relationships between age, gender, and job performance.

The findings of this study will provide valuable insights into the influence of age and gender on job performance among non-teaching staff members. It is expected that age may affect job performance through factors such as experience, knowledge, and motivation, while gender may influence job performance through factors such as social expectations, stereotypes, and work-life balance. The results will contribute to the existing body of knowledge on the topic and may have implications for human resource management practices within the university and other similar organizations.

Understanding the influence of age and gender on job performance can assist organizations in developing tailored strategies to enhance employee performance and well-being. By identifying potential age and gender-related challenges, organizations can implement targeted interventions, such as training programs, mentoring initiatives, or flexible work arrangements, to optimize job performance and create a supportive work environment for all employees.
