THE STUDY INTO THE PERCEPTION OF ADULTS ON THE RURAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMES IN NIGERIA

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was to assess how people in Nigeria, perceived themselves as key players in the execution of rural development programs.
The study’s main goals were to categorize the different types of rural development programs, assess their value in terms of how well they achieve their goals, how durable they are, how much of an impact they have, what strategies they employ to carry them out, and how much of an adult population they involve in their implementation.
Eight (8) research questions and eight (8) research hypotheses were posed and examined to ensure that the objectives were met.
At 0.05 alpha level, each hypothesis was tested.  To complete the project, the descriptive design was used.

The main tool utilized to gather data for the study was questionnaire.
scheduled interview schedule was added to this.
Using table of random numbers, data were gathered from 522 adult respondents in the communities where the programs were being implemented.
For all of the research issues looked at, the acquired data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, which included frequency distribution, mean score analysis, and basic percentages.
The t-test of significant difference between the means of two independent samples and the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) were used in the case of the study hypothesis.
The research showed: – The rural electricity, town hall, road construction, rehabilitation, bole holes, and health programs offered in Edo State across the three senatorial districts.
