ABSTRACT

This case study looks into how differentiated instruction methods are used in Nigerian schools to address the various learning needs of kids with physical disabilities. Given the importance of ensuring everyone has access to a high-quality education, this study uses a mixed-methods approach that incorporates student assessments, teacher interviews, and classroom observations. The study includes kids from various educational settings in Nigeria who have a variety of physical limitations. differentiated instruction strategies effectively address the unique learning profiles of students with physical disabilities. Customized approaches, such as modified curriculum content, adaptive technologies, and flexible assessment methods, demonstrate significant improvements in academic achievement, engagement, and overall learning experiences. Moreover, the study emphasizes the critical role of skilled and empathetic educators in tailoring instruction to the specific needs of students with physical disabilities. It identifies challenges in implementing differentiated instruction, including the need for specialized training for educators, access to adaptive technologies, and considerations for inclusive classroom design and resources. Additionally, cultural perspectives and societal attitudes toward disability may impact the acceptance and implementation of differentiated instruction practices within the Nigerian educational context. this case study holds substantial implications for inclusive education policy and practice in Nigeria. Recommendations are provided for the further development and integration of differentiated instruction, emphasizing increased investment in professional development for educators, the provision of adaptive resources, and community engagement initiatives to promote understanding and support for inclusive practices. it contributes to the broader discourse on inclusive education and the empowerment of students with physical disabilities.
