Abstract:
This study aims to investigate the theories of radicalization and terrorism in Nigeria, focusing on the factors and processes that contribute to the emergence and growth of extremist ideologies and activities within the country. Nigeria has faced significant challenges related to terrorism, with groups like Boko Haram and the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) posing a threat to national security and stability.
The research will utilize a multidisciplinary approach to explore various theories of radicalization and terrorism, including social, psychological, economic, and political perspectives. By examining these theories, the study seeks to understand the underlying causes of radicalization and the motivations that drive individuals to join extremist groups.
The research will involve a comprehensive literature review of academic studies, reports, and relevant publications on radicalization and terrorism in Nigeria. Additionally, primary data will be collected through interviews, surveys, and focus group discussions with individuals who have direct experience or expertise in the field.
The findings of this study will contribute to the existing body of knowledge on radicalization and terrorism in Nigeria, providing insights into the factors that facilitate the recruitment and radicalization processes.
