THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE AND WORK ATTITUDES, BEHAVIOR AND OUTCOMES: AN EXAMINATION AMONG SENIOR MANAGERS

Abstract:
This research project aims to investigate the relationship between emotional intelligence (EI) and work attitudes, behavior, and outcomes among senior managers. Emotional intelligence refers to the ability to recognize, understand, and manage one’s own emotions, as well as the emotions of others. It has been suggested that EI plays a crucial role in various aspects of professional life, particularly in leadership positions.

The study will employ a quantitative research design, utilizing a survey questionnaire to collect data from a sample of senior managers across different industries. The questionnaire will consist of validated measures of emotional intelligence, work attitudes (such as job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and engagement), work behavior (such as leadership style, conflict management, and decision-making), and work outcomes (such as job performance, team effectiveness, and employee well-being).

The research project aims to achieve the following objectives: (1) examine the levels of emotional intelligence among senior managers; (2) explore the relationship between emotional intelligence and work attitudes, behavior, and outcomes; (3) investigate the mediating role of work attitudes and behavior in the relationship between emotional intelligence and work outcomes; and (4) explore potential moderating factors that may influence the relationship between emotional intelligence and work-related variables.

Data analysis will involve conducting descriptive statistics, correlation analyses, and regression analyses to test the research hypotheses. Additionally, potential moderating variables, such as gender, age, and organizational context, will be examined through moderation analyses.

The findings of this research project will contribute to the existing body of knowledge on emotional intelligence and its impact on work-related variables among senior managers. The results will offer insights into the importance of emotional intelligence in leadership roles and provide practical implications for organizations in terms of leadership development programs and selection processes for senior managerial positions.
