FINANCING EDUCATION SECTOR IN KOGI STATE NIGERIA IN THE ERA OF INSURGENCY: IMPLICATIONS AND OPTIONS FOR NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

ABSTRACT

This research project aims to examine the financing of the education sector in Kogi State, Nigeria, amidst the challenges posed by insurgency. The study explores the implications of inadequate funding on educational development and identifies potential options for financing education to support national development goals.

Using a mixed-methods research design, the study will collect both quantitative and qualitative data. The quantitative data will be obtained through surveys and analysis of financial records, while qualitative data will be gathered through interviews and focus group discussions with key stakeholders in the education sector. The research objectives include assessing the current state of education financing in Kogi State, examining the impact of insurgency on educational infrastructure and resources, and exploring viable options for sustainable financing.

The findings of this research project will contribute to the existing literature by providing insights into the challenges faced by the education sector in Kogi State due to insurgency and inadequate funding.
