Abstract:
The rapid advancement of technology, globalization, and the recent global pandemic have brought about significant changes in the employment landscape worldwide. As Nigeria adapts to these changes, it becomes crucial to examine the impact of forming contemporary Nigerian formators on employability and global competitiveness, considering the psychosocial factors involved.
This study aims to explore the psychosocial perspective of forming contemporary Nigerian formators and its implications for employability and global competitiveness in the new normal. The term “formators” refers to individuals or institutions responsible for shaping the skills, knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors of individuals seeking employment.
The research will employ a mixed-methods approach, including qualitative interviews and surveys, to gather data from various stakeholders, such as employers, educators, policymakers, and job seekers. The qualitative interviews will provide in-depth insights into the psychosocial factors influencing the formation of contemporary Nigerian formators and their role in enhancing employability and global competitiveness. The survey will gather quantitative data to identify key trends, patterns, and correlations.
The study will focus on examining the following psychosocial factors:
Education and Training: The role of contemporary Nigerian formators in providing relevant and up-to-date education and training programs that align with the needs of the global job market.
Psychological Well-being: The impact of psychosocial support systems, including counseling services and mental health initiatives, on enhancing the employability and overall well-being of job seekers.
Social Capital: The influence of social networks, mentorship programs, and collaborative initiatives on building social capital and fostering opportunities for employment and global competitiveness.
Cultural Adaptability: The significance of cultural intelligence, intercultural skills, and diversity training in preparing Nigerian job seekers to navigate cross-cultural workplaces and excel in a globalized world.
The findings of this study will contribute to the existing literature by providing a comprehensive understanding of the psychosocial factors involved in forming contemporary Nigerian formators and their impact on employability and global competitiveness. The results will inform policymakers, educators, and employers in developing strategies and interventions that enhance the employability of Nigerian job seekers and ensure their competitiveness in the global marketplace.
