Abstract:
This study aims to investigate the relationship between technical education graduate students’ career satisfaction, their willingness for skills upgrading, and the mediating role of lifelong learning opportunities. The rapid advancements in technology and the changing nature of the job market have placed increasing demands on individuals to continuously upgrade their skills to remain competitive in their careers. Lifelong learning opportunities have emerged as crucial factors in facilitating skills development and career advancement.

The study adopts a quantitative research design, utilizing a structured questionnaire to collect data from a sample of technical education graduate students. The questionnaire includes measures of career satisfaction, willingness for skills upgrading, and perceived lifelong learning opportunities. Mediation analysis is employed to examine the mediating role of lifelong learning opportunities between career satisfaction and willingness for skills upgrading.

The findings of this study contribute to the existing literature by exploring the relationship between career satisfaction, willingness for skills upgrading, and lifelong learning opportunities among technical education graduate students. The results are expected to provide insights into the importance of lifelong learning opportunities in promoting career satisfaction and fostering a positive attitude towards skills upgrading.

The outcomes of this study have practical implications for educational institutions, policymakers, and employers. Understanding the mediating role of lifelong learning opportunities can help educational institutions design and implement effective programs that enhance students’ career satisfaction and motivation for continuous skills development. Policymakers can utilize these findings to develop policies and initiatives that promote lifelong learning opportunities in technical education programs. Employers can benefit from this research by recognizing the significance of supporting employees’ lifelong learning endeavors, which can lead to increased job satisfaction and productivity.

In conclusion, this study addresses the gap in the literature by examining the relationship between career satisfaction, willingness for skills upgrading, and the mediating role of lifelong learning opportunities among technical education graduate students. By shedding light on these interconnected factors, this research contributes to the understanding of how lifelong learning opportunities can positively impact career development and skills enhancement.
