Abstract:
Workplace stress is a significant concern that can affect the well-being and productivity of employees. This study aims to investigate the influence of age and educational qualification on workplace stress among civil servants in Ilorin, Nigeria. The research examines whether these demographic factors have a significant impact on the level of stress experienced by civil servants and explores potential differences in stress levels across age groups and educational backgrounds.

The study adopts a quantitative research approach and utilizes a survey questionnaire as the primary data collection tool. A sample of civil servants working in various government departments in Ilorin is selected using a stratified random sampling technique. The questionnaire includes validated scales to measure workplace stress, age, and educational qualification. Data analysis involves descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and analysis of variance (ANOVA) to examine the relationships and differences between variables.

The findings of the study will contribute to the existing body of knowledge on workplace stress by providing insights into the specific influence of age and educational qualification among civil servants in Ilorin. The results may help policymakers, human resource managers, and organizations develop targeted interventions and strategies to mitigate workplace stress and enhance employee well-being.

The research is subject to certain limitations, including the reliance on self-reported data, the specific context of civil servants in Ilorin, and the potential for response bias. Future research could explore additional factors influencing workplace stress and consider a broader sample to enhance the generalizability of the findings.

Keywords: workplace stress, civil servants, age, educational qualification, Ilorin, Nigeria.
