Abstract:
In recent years, the use of vodcasts as an educational tool has gained significant attention in various academic disciplines. This study aims to investigate the impact of vodcast use on the performance of undergraduate students in computer programming.

The study employs a quantitative research design, utilizing a sample of undergraduate students enrolled in a computer programming course. The participants were randomly assigned to two groups: an experimental group exposed to vodcasts as a supplementary learning resource and a control group that followed traditional instructional methods. The performance of both groups was measured using pre- and post-tests, which assessed their knowledge and skills in computer programming.

The findings of the study indicate that the use of vodcasts has a positive impact on the performance of undergraduate students in computer programming. The experimental group, which had access to vodcasts, demonstrated significantly higher improvement in their programming knowledge and skills compared to the control group. This suggests that vodcasts can effectively enhance the learning experience and outcomes of students in computer programming courses.

Furthermore, the study explores the factors that contribute to the effectiveness of vodcasts in improving student performance. It examines the students’ perceptions of vodcasts as a learning tool, their engagement levels, and the relationship between vodcast use and self-directed learning. The results reveal that students generally perceive vodcasts as a valuable resource that enhances their understanding of complex programming concepts. Additionally, increased engagement and self-directed learning were identified as key factors mediating the positive impact of vodcasts on student performance.

The implications of these findings are significant for educators and instructional designers in computer programming education. Incorporating vodcasts as a supplementary learning resource can help improve student performance and engagement in programming courses. However, it is essential to develop high-quality vodcasts that align with the curriculum and provide clear explanations, examples, and demonstrations. Additionally, fostering self-directed learning skills and promoting active student engagement with vodcasts can further enhance their effectiveness.

In conclusion, this study highlights the positive impact of vodcast use on the performance of undergraduate students in computer programming. By leveraging the benefits of vodcasts as an educational tool, educators can enhance the learning experience and outcomes of students in the field of computer programming, ultimately preparing them for successful careers in the digital age. Further research is warranted to explore the long-term effects of vodcast integration and to identify best practices for their implementation in computer programming education
