Abstract:
This study aims to assess the effectiveness and impact of using projected media as a teaching tool for learning basic science and technology in upper-basic schools in Ilorin, Nigeria. With the increasing availability and accessibility of technology, the integration of multimedia tools into educational settings has gained significant attention. This research seeks to investigate the potential benefits and challenges associated with the use of projected media in enhancing students’ learning experiences in the field of basic science and technology.

The study will employ a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative data collected through surveys and qualitative data gathered through interviews and observations. A sample of upper-basic school students, teachers, and administrators will be selected from various schools in Ilorin, Nigeria. The research will focus on assessing the current utilization of projected media in the classroom, exploring the perceptions of teachers and students regarding its effectiveness, and identifying any constraints or limitations faced in its implementation.

The quantitative data will be analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics to determine the level of impact of projected media on students’ academic performance and engagement in basic science and technology. The qualitative data will be analyzed thematically to identify emerging patterns, themes, and key findings.

The expected findings of this study will provide valuable insights into the use of projected media for teaching basic science and technology in upper-basic schools. It will shed light on the advantages and challenges associated with integrating multimedia tools into the curriculum, helping educators and policymakers make informed decisions regarding the implementation and utilization of projected media in the classroom.

The results of this research will contribute to the existing body of knowledge on the effective use of technology for educational purposes, specifically in the context of basic science and technology education. The findings will also inform the development of strategies and recommendations for improving the integration of projected media into the teaching and learning process, ultimately enhancing the quality of education in upper-basic schools in Ilorin, Nigeria.
