Abstract:
This correlational study aimed to examine the relationships between attitude towards physical exercise, active ageing, and quality of life among older adults, with a focus on the implications for geriatric counseling. The study recognized the importance of promoting healthy aging and enhancing the well-being of older individuals.

A sample of (number) older adults (age range) was recruited from (location) and completed a battery of self-report questionnaires. The questionnaires included measures of attitude towards physical exercise, active ageing, and quality of life. Attitude towards physical exercise was assessed by examining participants’ beliefs, motivations, and adherence to exercise routines. Active ageing was evaluated by capturing individuals’ engagement in social, physical, and cognitive activities that promote vitality and well-being. Quality of life was assessed using multidimensional indicators encompassing physical, psychological, social, and environmental domains.

Data analysis involved conducting correlational analyses to explore the associations between attitude towards physical exercise, active ageing, and quality of life. The results indicated significant positive correlations between attitude towards physical exercise and both active ageing and quality of life. Additionally, active ageing was found to be positively associated with quality of life.

The implications of these findings for geriatric counseling are twofold. First, the study highlights the importance of promoting a positive attitude towards physical exercise among older adults. Geriatric counselors can play a vital role in educating and motivating older individuals to engage in regular physical activity, emphasizing the potential benefits for their overall well-being. Second, the study underscores the significance of fostering active ageing as a means to enhance the quality of life in older adults. Geriatric counselors can assist older individuals in identifying and participating in activities that promote social connections, cognitive stimulation, and physical fitness.

Overall, this correlational study provides valuable insights into the relationships between attitude towards physical exercise, active ageing, and quality of life among older adults. The findings emphasize the potential role of geriatric counseling in promoting healthy aging and improving the well-being of older individuals. Future research should explore the effectiveness of counseling interventions aimed at modifying attitudes towards physical exercise and promoting active ageing, ultimately contributing to the development of comprehensive geriatric counseling strategies.
