Abstract:
This research study investigates the relationship between principals’ staff development initiatives and disciplinary practices and their impact on teachers’ job productivity in Anambra State public secondary schools. The study aims to explore the extent to which staff development programs and disciplinary practices implemented by principals influence teacher performance and overall job productivity.

The research adopts a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis techniques. A sample of teachers from various secondary schools in Anambra State will be selected using a stratified random sampling technique. The study will employ questionnaires to gather quantitative data, while interviews and focus group discussions will provide qualitative insights.

The findings from this research will contribute to the existing body of knowledge on the factors influencing teacher job productivity. The study is expected to reveal the relationship between principals’ staff development initiatives, disciplinary practices, and teachers’ job performance. It will also identify specific areas of improvement in the current staff development programs and disciplinary practices to enhance teacher productivity.

The study’s significance lies in its potential to inform educational policymakers, school administrators, and principals about the importance of effective staff development initiatives and disciplinary practices in improving teachers’ job productivity. By identifying the key factors that positively influence teacher performance, this research aims to provide insights that can guide the development of targeted interventions and policies to enhance teaching and learning outcomes in Anambra State public secondary schools.
