THE UTILIZATION OF DIGITAL INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGIES FOR TEACHING OFFICE TECHNOLOGY AND MANAGEMENT STUDENTS IN THE NEW NORMAL IN POLYTECHNICS, IN NORTH-CENTRAL, NIGERIA

ABSTRACT

This research project aims to explore the utilization of digital instructional technologies for teaching Office Technology and Management (OTM) students in the new normal era in polytechnics located in North-Central, Nigeria. The study seeks to assess the adoption and integration of digital instructional technologies, identify challenges and opportunities in their utilization, evaluate their effectiveness in enhancing student learning outcomes, and propose recommendations for optimizing their use in OTM education.

A mixed-methods research design will be employed, incorporating surveys, interviews, and classroom observations. The research objectives include assessing the current utilization of digital instructional technologies for teaching OTM students, identifying challenges and opportunities in their adoption and integration, evaluating their effectiveness in enhancing student learning outcomes, and proposing recommendations for optimizing their use in the new normal era.

The findings of this research project will contribute to the existing body of knowledge by providing insights into the utilization of digital instructional technologies for teaching OTM students. The research will assess the current adoption and integration of digital instructional technologies, including learning management systems, online collaboration tools, multimedia resources, virtual simulations, and educational apps. Additionally, the research will identify challenges and opportunities in their utilization, such as limited access to technology and internet connectivity, lack of training and support for faculty, and the need for curriculum alignment. Furthermore, the research will evaluate the effectiveness of digital instructional technologies in enhancing student learning outcomes, considering factors such as engagement, knowledge acquisition, skill development, and student satisfaction. Based on the findings, recommendations will be proposed for optimizing the utilization of digital instructional technologies in OTM education, encompassing faculty development programs, infrastructure enhancement, curriculum adaptation, and student support services.
