ABSTRACT

This research project aims to investigate the inhibitions and rewards associated with the professionalization of business education programmes in Nigeria. Professionalization refers to the process of aligning educational programmes with industry standards and requirements to enhance the quality and relevance of graduates entering the workforce. Business education programmes play a crucial role in equipping individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary for successful careers in the business sector. This study seeks to explore the inhibitions and challenges faced in the professionalization of business education programmes, as well as the rewards and benefits that arise from this process.

A mixed-methods research design will be employed, utilizing surveys, interviews, and document analysis to collect data from educators, administrators, industry professionals, and stakeholders in the field of business education in Nigeria. The research objectives include identifying the inhibitions and challenges faced in the professionalization of business education programmes, exploring the rewards and benefits that arise from this process, and providing insights to enhance the professionalization efforts in business education.
