THE FLIPPED CLASSROOM TEACHING MODEL TO ENHANCE ACTIVE LEARNING FOR GENERATIONS IN BUSINESS EDUCATION

ABSTRACT

This research project aims to investigate the effectiveness of the flipped classroom teaching model in enhancing active learning for generations in business education. The traditional lecture-based approach in education has limitations in engaging and empowering students, particularly in the field of business education where practical application and critical thinking skills are crucial. This study seeks to explore the implementation of the flipped classroom model, where instructional content is delivered outside of class, and in-class time is dedicated to interactive and collaborative activities, to foster active learning among students of different generations in business education.

A mixed-methods research design will be employed, combining surveys, observations, and student performance analysis to collect data from business education students and instructors. The research objectives include evaluating the implementation of the flipped classroom model in business education, examining its impact on student engagement, participation, and learning outcomes across different generational cohorts, and identifying best practices for effective implementation.

The findings of this research project will contribute to the existing body of knowledge by providing insights into the effectiveness of the flipped classroom teaching model in enhancing active learning for generations in business education. The research will evaluate the implementation of the flipped classroom approach, including the selection and delivery of pre-class materials, in-class activities, and assessment methods. It will examine the impact of the model on student engagement, such as increased participation, interaction, and critical thinking skills. Furthermore, the study will explore how the flipped classroom approach caters to the learning preferences and characteristics of different generational cohorts, such as Generation Z, Millennials, and Generation X.

The implications of this research extend to business education instructors, curriculum designers, educational institutions, and students. The findings will provide instructors with insights into the effectiveness of the flipped classroom model, enabling them to design and deliver engaging and interactive learning experiences for students. Curriculum designers can utilize the research outcomes to incorporate active learning strategies, such as the flipped classroom model, into business education programs. Educational institutions can benefit from understanding the impact of the flipped classroom approach on student learning outcomes, potentially leading to institutional support and professional development opportunities for instructors. Students will benefit from a more engaging and student-centered learning environment that enhances their critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaborative skills
