RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN EFFECTIVE STUDENTS’ PERSONNEL ADMINISTRATION AND TEACHERS’ JOB ENGAGEMENT IN SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN AWKA EDUCATION ZONE

Abstract:
This abstract provides an overview of a study that explores the relationship between effective students’ personnel administration and teachers’ job engagement in secondary schools within the Awka Education Zone. The study aims to investigate how the implementation of efficient students’ personnel administration practices influences teachers’ job engagement, ultimately impacting the overall educational environment.

Effective students’ personnel administration encompasses various factors, such as student support services, disciplinary measures, counseling, and extracurricular activities, which contribute to a conducive learning atmosphere. On the other hand, teachers’ job engagement refers to their emotional and cognitive connection to their work, including their level of motivation, commitment, and satisfaction.

The study utilizes a mixed-methods research design, incorporating both quantitative and qualitative data collection techniques. Quantitative data will be collected through surveys administered to a representative sample of secondary school teachers in the Awka Education Zone. The surveys will assess teachers’ perceptions of students’ personnel administration practices and their levels of job engagement. Additionally, qualitative data will be gathered through in-depth interviews with selected teachers to gain deeper insights into their experiences and perceptions.

The data collected will be analyzed using appropriate statistical techniques, such as correlation and regression analyses, to examine the relationship between effective students’ personnel administration and teachers’ job engagement. The qualitative data will be thematically analyzed to identify recurring patterns and themes.

The anticipated findings of this study are expected to shed light on the importance of effective students’ personnel administration in fostering teachers’ job engagement. Positive relationships between these variables may indicate that well-implemented student support services, disciplinary measures, counseling, and extracurricular activities positively influence teachers’ motivation, commitment, and satisfaction.

The implications of this research can guide educational policymakers, school administrators, and relevant stakeholders in recognizing the significance of effective students’ personnel administration as a means to enhance teachers’ job engagement. By understanding the factors that contribute to teachers’ engagement, educational institutions can implement targeted strategies to improve the overall educational experience and promote student success.
